Three (3) programs to choose from.

Intermediate Sailing Course:

If you are comfortable sailing on all points of sail and want to improve your sailing, learn some maneuvers and be introduced to racing then this is the next step up. The course will be run on the larger  Laser Bahia, or on a Laser  or a mixture of the two for 3 x 2hr sessions spread over 3 days.

Session 1: Improving your Sailing

  • Points of Sailing recap & sailing around a triangular course
  • The 5 Essentials

Session 2: Maneuvers

  • Leaving & returning to a beach
  • Coming alongside
  • Rigging, Reefing & Storage

Session 3: Getting Competitive

  • Theory including basic aerodynamic theory, meteorology, tides and knots
  • The Rules of the Road
  • An introduction to racing

Fees per/person: 1 person $300,  2 people $180 (each), 3 people $150 (each).  The Laser Bahia can easily sail with instructor and three students.

Laser to Laser Coaching:

An advanced Laser sailor will sail next to you. Demonstrate how to handle the boat correctly, than guide and correct you from his own Laser. Laser to Laser are two hour sessions, and we recommend to take at least four (4) days of this program. The on the water sessions are no more than two hours long.

Fees per/person/session: $180 includes the two Lasers, and the coach.

Add On- to Laser to Laser coaching.

For those who wish to learn more more about racing theory, preparation for racing, get a written summery of their Laser to Laser session, with a list of home work tasks. We offer an additional hour with the coach for the sum of $80.00.

Magic Triangle.

Three buoys are set in triangle, each about 100m apart. This short course allows the sailor and coach to concentrate on boat handling in a small area. Upwind mark rounding, downwind mark rounding, trimming towards the mark, jibing at the mark, reaching, tacking all the points one wants to work on with the coach being right there on the coach boat for immediate feedback. We run the Magic triangle inside the bay, for increased wind shifts and change in wind velocity. This 2 hour- 4 day session, is planed for a minimum of four sailors, and the coaching fees are $270.00 a person. Laser Charter is $360.00. Sailors are welcome to practice on their own every day after the coaching session.
