In the name of the International Laser Class Association (ILCA) I would like to thank Ari Barshi and all the participants of the survey for their efforts and interesting proposals.

In 10 days there is a ILCA World Council meeting and we have put all suggestions / proposals .on the agenda. We will obviously come back to you and report on the decisions taken at that meeting.

RESULTS and pictures 10th Caribbean Laser Midwinter Regatta in Cabarete

36 sailors from 13 countries were challenged in all possible sailing conditions, during the 3 day 10th Caribbean Laser Midwinter Regatta held in Cabarete, Dominican Republic.
First day offered steady 22 knots with big swell, Second day featured crowed pleaser in bay racing with shifty and gusty offshore wind, and the third day offered three races in 6 to 12 knots, in a beautiful Caribbean Sunny day.

Julio Alsogaray, from Argentina who recently won the Gold Medal in the Pan Games, fought hard to beat Italian Olympic hopeful Michele Regolo, and young Ard Van Aanholt from Curacao surprised all for finishing 3rd ahead of a few olympic sailors.
In the Radial calls 1st place is Juanky Perdomo from Puerto Rico, who edged Philipine Van Aanholt from Curacao, and third was Peter Seidenberg from the USA.

The Master category winner is Ari Barshi from the Dominican Republic, who used his local knowledge of the waves downwind to beat Wolfgang Gerz from Germany on the last race.

After coaching in the Pan Am games last month, head coach Rulo is now in Perth at the 2011 ISAF worlds. Rulo is coaching at the Laser Full rig fleet.

Anyone attending one of our clinics, can be assured that everything Rulo teaches, is “fresh off the oven”.

February 14th-18th, Season Warm-up clinic and regatta

Open to Radial and Full rigs. Lots of drills, real life regatta situations, and our famous video analysis from coach boat and on-board cameras. This 4 day clinic is followed by a one day in bay regatta, in which coaching is part of the regatta. Coach Rulo, will be there to watch and give little hints on how to improve between heats. Prerequisite: Comfortable boat handling in 15 knots.
